Don't shoot me!!

After a nightout of mahjong, I was hoping that I could spend a relaxing Saturday at home. Then my brother dropped the bomb. There was a family photo shoot later... I hate taking photos, but since my dad had ORDERED it and we don't really have a family potrait, we went ahead loh.

As my family prepared for the photoshoot, everyone is in a scramble. For an idea of what went on in my household, the conversation went something like this. "Oei, go and shower leh" "No lah, you go first lah" "Dun want lah, you go lah, I bathed last night liao!" And so on. Anyway, finally we were ready for the photoshoot, with four hunks and a lady rushing out of the house to keep the appointment in a Clementi photo studio.

When we reached there, the lady there told us to wait for 30mins while they apply makeup to my mom. Tea time!! Anyway, when the makeup was done, my mom came out looking very different. "Wah seh!" is the unanimous exclaim from all of us. My dad added, "30 plus year never make up liao hor?" At that time, I was starting to think that having a family photoshoot wasn't such a bad idea after all.

After gowns are worn, blazers borrowed and ties picked, we went into the studio for the shoot. It was a relatively spacious area with several ready backdrops on canvas to be picked. My dad chose the cloudy looking backdrop, quoting "Dun want the standard bookcase, fireplace one lah". Then as the photographer, a friendly chap in his 30s, begin to get us into place, he realised that he has one hell of a task to complete to take a good picture of my family.

"Open your eyes more!" Small eyes leh...

"Show more teeth when you smile!" Okay...

"Show less teeth when you smile!" Make up your mind lah...

And this went on and on... After 45 mins of gruelling phototaking, we all suffer from trembling cheeks from over smiling. After the family shoot was done, I was supposed to take some individual pictures. Being the fillial son that I am, I "sacrificed" my individual photoshoot to allow my parents to take their long awaited "wedding photo part II". Actually, I dun really like to take photos one, especially this kind of "glamour shots". Guess IF I actually get married, the photoshoot will be one hell of torture for me le.

Anyway, that's the story of my family photoshoot. May the next one be long long time away.
