Coyote Ugly

Pete and I managed to catch the movie Coyote Ugly on HBO on Saturday. This is my 3rd or 4th time watching it, but it remains as entertaining as the 1st time I watched it. It stars Piper Perabo, playing Violet Sanford, moving to New York to pursue her dream of becoming a songwriter. In the process, she lands a job at the hottest night spot in New York, in a bar called Coyote Ugly. She joins a team of resourceful young ladies in tantalising customers every night with their sexy dance moves and antics on the bartop. Nice moves accompanied by a great soundtrack with several songs by LeAnn Rimes. Not to mention, it also stars, sweet-faced hunk, Adam Garcia, who raises the oomph factor by several notches (*pat pat* Pete).

Later in the evening, we witnessed Singapore's very own version of Coyote Ugly, in our very own MRT train. This time, there was no oomph factor to it. A lady decided to make one of the poles situated at intervals in the train her personal pole, for pole dancing perhaps? I could find nowhere on the pole that I can have a grip on (in places where I can reach) as she was leaning on it wholly, in total oblivion! This version of Coyote Ugly is ugly indeed. Lady, this is so not cool.

Other not so cool behaviour observed during train rides:

- People on the outside crowding in front of train doors, making it quite impossible for the passengers inside to alight (if people on the inside can't get out, how is anyone from the outside going to get in? You really want us to shove and barge our way through?)

- Fit and able-bodied passengers pretending to fall asleep or appear unwell so as to avoid giving up their seat to those who need it more (mai ke ke, please)

- Passengers taking up more than 1 seat with their bags and barang barang, especially when the train is full (hmmm.....did your barang barang pay their due fares?)

A little courtesy really goes a long way. I wish people can just practise a little more consideration. It makes travelling a less unpleasant experience, especially during peak hours.

Okie, enough griping for now.....cos it's bell-ring time! Yoo hoo! I made it! I survived Monday! Okie, I'm packing up...home sweet home...

An nyonghi kyesayo!
