RTs are not that bad after all
Hello! Here I am writing about my army stuff again. Boys, being boys, will always like to talk about their army stuff. Well, it's a unique experience after all mah. We got bragging rights after suffering 2.5 years in NS, okay? :P
Anyway, I just attended my remedial training last night at Maju camp near Clementi. I must say that RT is somewhat a congregation of different types of losers bah (including me). Losers due to the fact that we have all failed our IPPT. :P but seriously, it was a very interesting mix of people there. Let me try to list out the interesting ones. There was one guy with a rather sizable "spare tyre" which I thought was impossible to remove. *mental note to myself - pls dun get such a spare tyre* There was a fit looking guy with lots of tattoos. Wonder why he is there? There was a nerdy looking guy wearing a "Harry Potter" shirt. There were a couple of guys discussing Transformer action figures. (they looked like they were in their 30s... late 30s). The list of odd balls continues.. you can really see people from all walks of life there.
On a more interesting note, I bumped into an old secondary school friend there whom i have not met for ard 10 years. Had quite a nice catching up session with him there. See? RT can be a good place for bumping into long lost friends too.
As for the training, i think their policy this time round is not to wack you til you are afraid of RT, but to actually train you and help you prepare for the IPPT. Current training is in stages, early stages being not so tough and help you to prepare for the tougher training in the later stages. i think its alot better this way, than starting off with the tough training and make us dread coming to RT. i'm actually (kinda) looking forward to the sessions as i am finally getting some much needed exercise.(my long lost friend commented i'm sooooo much fatter than before :S)
anyway, this is my RT experience for now. Next will be my ICT experience (my virgin ICT leh *blushing*) which i will be going in for tomorrow morning. i hope it would be something like my RT experience, which is tough, but enjoyable.
Hope to see ya soon! Peter out!
