Horror of All Horrors!

Just when we thought we had it all under control, finalising our vendors for our big day a year or so in advance, so that we could spend the 1 year leading up to our wedding planning the little details without feeling too much of the heat. We had just come up with a time-line of the tasks we will need to carry out and complete from now till the month of our wedding, and were just going to pat ourselves on our backs for starting the planning well ahead of time when...

...horror of all horrors...we stumbled upon the provisional schedule of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2009. Yes, it states that the final race day for next year may be taking place on our big day itself, making it an even bigger day? *bitter laugh*

With our wedding reception being held at the hotel that will just be a stone's throw from the race track, we panicked. Several alternatives sprung into our minds over the past few days:

- Have a lunch reception instead
- Start the dinner early
- Arrange for shuttle buses for our guests
- Postpone the wedding

Pete emailed the Banquet Manager with questions on the hotel's contingency plans, and we will be arranging to meet next week to discuss further on this matter before we decide what should be done.

One of the reasons we chose the hotel for our reception was the convenience and location, as it is situated just above City Hall station. Looks like this may turn out to be a major inconvenience instead. Ironic, isn't it? *bitter laugh*

We thought we could save ourselves from more stress by planning early. Once again, it's turning out to be an irony. *bitter laugh*

I guess the hard part too is not knowing if we should make any changes at the moment, as it is still a provisional schedule after all. The confirmed schedule should be out by the end of this year, or the start of next year. I suppose we will see what the Banquet Manager has to say when we meet up with her next week.

Meanwhile, ... *fingers crossed* ... that everything will turn out ok.
