Why Are They Called Wisdom Teeth?
I am really wondering why are wisdom teeth called wisdom teeth, when they are silly enough to grow in any direction, giving you discomfort anytime. That does not sound very wise to me.
Am currently on 8 days mc recovering from the removal of 2 of my wisdom teeth last Friday. I know...why remove them now just 1 month away from the wedding?! Well, I think one of them chose this time to start giving me headaches and giddy spells. I attributed it to my tooth, and visited the dentist, who said the gum around it was a little inflamed, and I will be taking a chance if I did not remove it soon. It would be too late if it flares up right before the wedding!
So, I had to go ahead with it, as the last thing I need would be to faint from the headaches and giddy spells, which happened to one of my students before, as she refused to remove her wisdom tooth.
Took the cowardly and definitely more expensive way out, and opted for GA for the surgery. Before I hopped onto the surgery table, the dentist said that I have to eventually remove the rest of my wisdom teeth as they are all impacted. Made a last minute decision, and told him to remove 2 instead of 1. Well, since I will be on GA...However, I was not brave enough to get him to remove all 4!
Am now swelling a little, hurting a little, and eating very little :-( I really can't wait to sink my teeth into solid meat. I am craving MEAT....give me MEAT!!! Am so tired of the porridge, soup, and milo combination. I think I am having giddy spells from lack of food now. So much for removing the tooth to get rid of the headaches and giddy spells!
Really hope my wounds will heal soon. I'm sure Pete hopes so too, as I can be a rather whiny "patient". I freak out when I gurgle and see blood, freak out when I taste blood, and just move around like a sloth most of the time. I really hope everything will be back to normal soon, and I can at least smile normally on the wedding day haha!
Meanwhile, am not looking forward to the next visit to the dentist on Friday for the removal of stitches...

wow, 8 days mc. so shiok! how come u ate meat lasagna on sat then? i'm still wondering if i have any wisdom teeth...i think some of my milk teeth still around leh.
Huh? Where got milk teeth still around one?? If they are not bothering you, maybe you don't have a problem with wisdom teeth? But I think can only know when you go for x-ray. I ate meat lasagna on sat cos I'm shrinking.....can eat, just gotta chew slowly...never notice I ate soooo slowly?

Wow! You very brave!!! *clap clap* I'm back at work already. Will be on leave again the week of my wedding...
