Mission accomplished

Hello all! I'm back to blogging at last...

Finally finished the secret mission that I have been planning for almost 2 months. It was executed not-so-smoothly last Friday on the 9th of Nov. As for the details, my co-blogger may or may not disclose here, so don't hold your breath waiting hor.

Now that this mission is over, we have a much more daunting task ahead of us. It's an uncharted route for us, but I'm pretty confident that we will be able to get it done together. =)

Oh, for those who don't know, my birthday was on the 10th, so happy belated birthday to me! wahahahaha.. Ah mi and I attended my cousin's wedding dinner that day. As there was some family related conflict (which i will not state here) happening prior to the dinner, I wasn't sure how the dinner will turn out, especially when I was kind of in the centre of this whole "saga". Hence, I went to the dinner feeling quite apprehensive, with ah mi by my side calming my nerves. The dinner turned out to be much better than expected, with my cousins throwing a mini party at our table. The dinner was punctuated with lots of laughter and fun.

And of cos, my cousin (the bride), was easily the prettiest gal at the dinner. No wonder they say that a woman's most beautiful moment is when she is the bride. Congrats to you, my dear cousin!

Okay now.. I am not at a liberty to say too much here, so I'll just end here bah. (actually i don't know what to write anymore).

Signing off,
Pete

Awaiting the Arrival of the Pestbusters

Been seeking refuge in the living room for the past 3 nights, as my brother is back from camp for the rest of the week. Between Monday night and early Tuesday morning, there were 15 roaches spotted in my bedroom and bathroom! The living room is not exactly a safe place either, with 3-4 roaches seen over the past 3 nights.

After much dingdong-ing, mom brought me the good news last night that my dad has finally gotten round to calling and making arrangements for an exterminator to come in. This Saturday, 10am, shall be the first step towards the eradication of these irksome creatures, with their annoyingly long feelers!

Under Siege

Last night marked one of the most hair-raising experiences of my life. I was woken up at 2 in the morning by a light movement across my arm. I knew before I opened my eyes, that it has to be a cockroach, a species that I have been co-existing with for some time now. I flung my arm hard to shake it off, thinking I could go back to dreamland, as it was "one of those moments", obviously not experienced for the first time. Little did I know, dreamland was the last place I would be going for the next 2 hours or so. Crawling sounds on plastic bags, as well as flying movements were heard. I turned on my lights, and was greeted with more than 10 roaches crawling around the room in different locations. Some flew, some scurried across the floor, some crawled onto my bed. I stood in the middle of my bed, fending and flinging those that crawled too near me with one of my pillows. My palms were sweating, and I felt totally trapped. I was afraid to get out of the room for fear of more outside, moreover, some were hovering above the door. I was under siege!

Feeling desperate, I had no choice but to call my dad on his phone to come and have a look, and escort me to sleep in my brother's room. I will be sleeping in his room till we get an exterminator in.

Right now, I just feel so upset. I have been living with this roach problem for the longest time ever. Pete has collected many dead bodies for me when he comes over during the weekends. This infestation has existed way before Pete and I even knew each other. I highly suspect it is over-populated in the roof of the house, as they can be heard crawling and scurrying around from my room, and I'm not exaggerating about that. Any normal human being would have gone berserk by now, but my dad seems to think I'm just being a whiny girl. He got impatient and brushed it off as a small matter, and blamed last night's incident on the weather! My mum actually told me they will not bite, and told me to walk a little louder to scare them away. I was tempted to take Cindy's suggestion of sprinkling some food leading to their bedroom.

Last night was a rather traumatising experience for me. My hair still stands when I re-collect the incident. I get chills when I step into my bedroom now. I hope to get the exterminator in soon. Joycelyn, if you are reading this, I saw one crawling onto your pillow too.
